I typed this blog post draft in 2021 (5 years ago). I had a wonderful Christmas time with family yesterday. I admit that I do not want Christmas to be over already. Overall, I love this time of year. I just love Christmas. More importantly, Christmas is about our greatest gift that God gave us. That greatest gift is Jesus Christ, our savior. God loves us so much that He sent His beloved son, Jesus to the world so that we can be saved from eternal damnation. I received thoughtful presents from my family and I am grateful that I am here, alive and present with loved ones and friends this year. This year was full of ups and downs. Yes there was uncertainty, yet there was so much amity and thoughtfulness for others.
Let’s choose to be reflective about what God has done for us all year round. I can’t believe that 2021 is almost over. It feels like time goes by fast. I, like other people, did not expect to experience a rampant pandemic this year nor in the past two years. Certainly, the pandemic changed my plans including my hoping that I would be able to cross the stage and receive my Bachelor’s degree diploma at my university. I pray that God will help us to be more grateful and thankful for all that He has done for us this year. Remember there is hope and there is light even when we feel like we are in a deep pit of despair.

Now I want to share with you guys, the Christmas movies that I watched this year. If you know me well, I love watching romantic Christmas movies. I just enjoy watching the protagonists fall in love even if they are merely acting for the cameras. I can really feel the chemistry in one particular Christmas movie titled “The Spirit of Christmas.” I also enjoy the humor in these movies.

Spoiler Alert! Earlier this year, I watched “Love Hard” featuring Nina Dobrev and Jimmy O. Yang. I actually was not planning to watch this movie, but my friend put this on the TV screen and we watched it together at her house. I did not think this movie would be good, but to my surprise, I actually loved the plotline and the humor! I highly recommend you watch this movie because the actors and actresses are perfect for this movie and I enjoyed Nina’s character’s singing in the bar where she did not realize that her face was breaking out due to her allergy to kiwis. This movie is on Netflix.

The third movie I watched is “12 Dates of Christmas.” I enjoyed watching this movie! My eyes were glued to the TV screen! There were no boring scenes and the acting was great. I also like the theme of this movie which is that the female protagonist realized that her true love was the brunette man all along- the man that she was on a first date with while she was still wishing for her ex boyfriend to end his engagement with another woman and to reconcile with her.

The fourth Christmas movie that I also liked is “A prince for Christmas.” I recommend romantic film fans to watch this movie because you can see the love and the care that the two protagonists have for each other. I love the fact that this film took place in a small idyllic town and you can see the snowy scenes and the protagonists’ gradual falling in love that is palpable.

I typed this paragraph and the next two paragraphs below today (Wednesday, April 1, 2026). The fifth Christmas movie that I enjoyed watching was back when I was relaxing during my Winter Break (December 2025) and the title of that movie is A Timeless Christmas. I loved the acting and the actors/actresses. I also loved the plot and the 1920’s costumes. The acting felt real and I was attentive to this movie because I loved the romance in this movie. When December 2026 comes around, I highly recommend you watch this movie. I also read the Wikipedia page about the actor that played the protagonist, Charles Whitley and I found out that he has Indonesian and Dutch ancestry (his father’s side)! I am a Wasian meaning that I am 50% German and 50% Taiwanese/Hakka. I am biracial!

The sixth Christmas movie that I also watched back in December 2025 was titled Next Stop, Christmas! This movie Next Stop, Christmas is an adorable and light-hearted movie. I enjoyed watching this movie because this plot is mainly “What if?” theme. What if the protagonist, Angie decide to marry her famous boyfriend? What if Angie decide to marry her childhood male friend? I love the acting and the acting feels so real not fake! The actress that played Angie, Lyndsy Fonseca is an talented actress and that goes the same for the actor, Chandler Massey that played Ben Lee! They have great on-screen chemistry. And the actor, Christopher Lloyd is also in this movie!

Spoiler Alert! The seventh Christmas movie I enjoyed watching was on Netflix last December (2025). The title is Champagne Problems. I enjoyed watching this movie during a winter night in my sister’s place. The plot was not boring nor dragging on. I enjoyed the variety of characters and each character did a good job acting. I also like how the protagonist, Henri, is bilingual (he speaks French and English). The movie is about an American woman who went to Paris and met a local Frenchman, Henri. They start to fall in love, but what Sydney did not know is that Henri is the heir of a CEO of a champagne company. Sydney is trying to convince the CEO to sell his company to Syndey’s employer which makes the relationship between Henri and Sydney complicated amidst the holiday season in France!
Even though today is April 1, 2026, I am excited for Hallmark Channel company to create new Christmas romantic movies for the new Christmas season in 2026! I was not disappointed with last year’s lineup and I am excited to see what new Christmas movies Hallmark has in store for us!
